Transportation Compliance Specialist

The Transportation Compliance Specialist's primary responsibility is to administer the Federal Drug & Alcohol program for our clients. This includes clearinghouse administration, return-to-duty oversight, and managing the random selection process.

This is considered a hybrid position with little to no travel. Some travel exceptions might be for continuing education, conferences, and for departmental meetings at the home office. This position requires the candidate to report to the office for the first two to three weeks for training. After that, they will transition into a hybrid work-from-home role, if desired. At that time, they will be expected to come to the office on Wednesdays, and other days as needed.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Client implementations
    • Go over the program requirements in detail
    • Review our testing program, portal and random consortiums
    • Policy consultation
  • Request updated rosters from clients each quarter
  • Run random consortiums quarterly
  • Track clients drug testing progress
  • Report drug test results annually
  • Policy consultation and development
  • Clearinghouse administration
    • Return to duty oversight
    • Driver reports
    • Drug and alcohol reporting


Qualifications/Education/Experience:


Requirements

  • State and Federal transportation experience is preferred
  • Experience with managing drug and alcohol programs is preferred
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • High level of customer service skills is required
  • Experience working with multiple companies and switching between them throughout the day

Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities

  • Must be highly organized and capable of managing a large, ever changing, client workload
  • Ability to learn multiple systems used to manage client data & services
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Able to meet deadlines, work independently without direct supervision, as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service, telephonic, electronic, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to solve problems, analyze systems and data and suggest appropriate solutions
  • Technical experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Use of standard office equipment
