Life Care Planner
The Verity Group (www.theveritygroup.com) is recruiting for a Life Care Planner, preferably with testimony experience. This is a remote position, with the flexibility to meet your needs as a per diem employee or as a contractor. Travel may be required for some in-person assessments and testimony, with a current concentration of assignments in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Verity Group has a dedicated support team to assist our experts throughout the process. Our Life Care Planners assess, evaluate, review, and analyze records. They consult with treating physicians and medical experts as needed, while communicating with attorneys and other referral sources. In preparing reports, they synthesize information and develop opinions, which they may be required to testify to in court.
Position Duties:
- Conduct structured assessment interviews of evaluees;
- Review, interpret, and synthesize background information to understand an evaluee's functional limitations and attributes;
- Structure, monitor, and oversee the research process;
- Review research and render final judgments regarding structure and content of expert opinions and reports;
- Prepare reports in accordance with certification body standards of practice;
- Remain current with respect to applicable laws, case laws, and practice guidelines;
- Provide sworn testimony in multiple jurisdictions, as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Registered Nurse license strongly preferred.
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors with life care planning certification will be considered
- Certified Life Care Planner and/or Certified Nurse Life Care Planner certification required.
- Life care planning experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a similar environment and knowledge of medical, psychological, and developmental topics preferred.
- Testimony experience preferred.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, analytical thinking capabilities, and computer skills.
- Ability to successfully perform job duties in an independent, professional, organized, and dependable manner.
