Claims Assistant
Job Summary
As a Claims Assistant, you will support the Claim Review Specialist team by performing various claim-related tasks.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Reports directly to the Claims Supervisor
Review and make follow-up contact on initial claims pending EDI Transmission
Work & complete BWC Drop claims appropriately & timely.
Assist with the CRS hunt group Phones
Assist FROI team with the filing of initial claims when needed.
Ability to perform all roles of the Sheakley UniComp CRS and FROI position.
Special projects or extra duties as assigned by Claims supervisor.
Work independently while efficiently prioritizing tasks assigned.
QualificationsEducationExperience:
Good computer skills with the ability to type 30-40 WPM.
Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of High School education or Equivalent experience.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Prefer 1-year BWC or Worker's Comp experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities
Communication skills - you will be interacting with multiple teams.
Attention to detail - for reviewing and processing complex claim forms.
Problem- Solving Skills- ability to quickly come up with solutions andor strategies.
Organization Skills- such as time management, delegation, planning, and goal setting.
Goals:
- Ensure Accurate and Timely Claims Processing
- Review and input claim data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Meet or exceed daily/weekly processing quotas.
- Support the Claims Review Team by assisting with the documentation, follow-ups, and case preparation.
- Improve Workflow Efficiency
